School history: The Theoretical Lyceum “ Alecu Russo” bears its name since 2003, but until then, It was a primary school built in 1940. On the 1st of September 1963 the eight years Moldovan-Russian school is being reorganized in General secondary school . The three-storey building of nowadays school is finished in 1989, being well designed with: Cozy classrooms, a library, where pupils come after classes if they need more information or if they, just, want to read an interesting book. Teachers’ Room / Staff Room, a canteen, laboratories, festive hall, sports hall and sports field, Ressource Center, the psychologist's office. Thus, in 2003 it was named after the famous Romanian writer, literary critic and publicist Alecu Russo, the author of one of the most elaborate forms of the Romanian national folk ballad “Miorita”. Actually, our Lyceum has 41 teachers and 505 pupils. School emblem: Unfortunately, we don’t have a school emblem, yet, but the quotation left by Alecu Russo “The fight fortifies the weak one and the danger makes bigger the tough one” is like an echo that pupils wear in their minds, not only during school years, but for the rest of their lives, too. B. School program 1. List 3 things about your school program that make it unique. Our school is unique because we can learn many foreign languages like French, English and Russian. Every month in our school there is a special week, dedicated to a discipline: For example, during English Month, that we celebrate in October, but not only, we keep to the tradition of celebrating “Halloween”. An other beautiful tradition, also in autumn, is organizing “Golden Autumn Week”: we decorate the school with autumn leaves and different season fruits and vegetables, we make autumn paintings. We create beautiful ikebana and we make contests among classes to win the prize for the most creative and imaginative exhibition of autumn harvest, we sing and dance and greet the rich autumn. And we don’t forget to celebrate the winter holidays, also with beautiful decorations, exhibitions and ikebanas. School calendar from the session dates
PART III. INTRODUCING THE COMMUNITY A. Our community 1.Singereii Noi is a commune of the district Singerei, the Republic of Moldova. It is composed of two villages, Marinesti and Singereii Noi. The village is located at 25 km from the district center (Sîngerei), 12 km from Balti, 125 km from Chisinau and 10 km from the railway station Alexăndreni. Singereii Noi village, founded in 1921, has a population of over 5,000 inhabitants. In the Centre of the village, there is a large and beautiful Park for children. Villagers have free internet in this park area. The park was built opposite the lake from the centre of the village: 2. Location of our community- In the North of the Republic of Moldova 3. The village has an area of about 2.00 square kilometers. B. Special characteristics 3 reasons why people come to visit our area People come to visit our village because it is beautiful and green, especially in warm season, our people are very hospitable and friendly. Our cuisine is delicious. Some people come to live in our village, from towns and cities, because it is clean, the air is pure and fresh and not as noisy as in big towns and cities. Annually, our village organize and host some national festivals, such as: Bostaniada- Ethno-gastronomic Festival to celebrate Autumn harvest Village Day Festival – on the 14-th of October. These festivals attract many people. At the festivals people can taste delicious food, see concerts, participate in different contests and win prizes, buy souvenirs and have a great time! An other reason, is that on United Nations Day, first Lady Margareta Timofti participated in the events dedicated to this holiday in our village Singereii-Noi, central Singerei district. Margareta Timofti together with UN Resident Coordinator, permanent representative of the UNDP in Moldova Nicola Harrington-Buhay and the settlement’s mayor Valentina Ceausceac attended a football match between the UN team in Moldova and the one from the village. The game was carried out in sports hall, repaired and endowed with modern equipment within a UN programme on restoration of the local infrastructure. Singereii Noi village, is one of the 200 Moldovan settlements benefiting from the UN support in strengthening the local autonomy, by elaborating strategies and plans on the community development. Villagers have free internet in the park area, due to a project on facilitating access to information, funded by UN. This is our new sports hall, that can be attended by every villager, eager to practice any kind of sport. An other thing, that may seem an unusual one for a village, is the number of churches you could see, if you came to visit Singereii Noi. Although the churches are of different religions, people that attend them are all very hospitable and kind and hardworking. These are Baptist Churches, but even the Baptists are of two kinds. The first one was built in 2009 and the second one in 1982. This is our Orthodox Christian Church, built in 1995 This is one of the Adventist Church Seventh Day, built in 1935. And this one is the second Adventist Church Seventh Day, built in 2010. Also in the centre of the village, you will observe our Village Hall, the head of which is the settlement Woman-Mayor Mrs. Ceausceac Valentina. Also in the centre village, visitor might see an other new, beautiful and colourful kindergarden that is adored by every child that attend it. C. Industries Major industries or occupations in your community. Not far from the village Center, one can see this wonderful building that is not only a Market, but also a great opportunity to get a job for some of the villagers. THANK YOU for you attention!!!
